Netrigan is a crime thriller directed by Milind Rao and produced by Pignesh Shipan under the Rocky Pictures banner. The film was released live on Disney + Hotstar OT.
It is based on the Korean movie Blind and stars Nayantara in the lead role. Composed by Krish Gopalakrishnan and cinematography by R.D. Rajasekaran.
Durga is a CBI officer who lost his brother and his vision in an accident while returning from a party. On the other hand, a person is abducted in the city. What happens when their lives are interrupted and how he catches her even if she loses sight.
Lady Superstar is in perfect shape as CBI officer Durga and she has her own collective moments as an employer so it is enough to call Netrican a mass crime thriller instead of a crime thriller. He took a lot of effort for the action scenes and translated it well on screen. His performances were equally complete with stunt dancing and R.D. Rajasekar’s cinematography.
Clever, Netrigan is a world-class film. Girish Gangadharan’s music shows the way in tragic situations and forces us to realize Durga’s character, to travel with her and understand her world. The songs are beautiful and don’t break the pace in the screenplay. The film does not diminish the dignity of his character under any circumstances, so we have sympathy for him. So the heart of the film is in the right place.
It can be outlawed in movies as well. There are so many wonderful moments for female superstars. The acting of actors like Manikandan and Charan is wonderful. Technical qualities such as music and cinematography are remarkable. The battle scenes written by Jilip Subramaniam are well thought out. When everything works well, it makes you wonder how good this product would have been if the picture had been harder.
In contrast, there are some issues with the writing and screenplay. There is an array that catches the opponent. Ideally, the film should have ended there. But there is an extra row where the ball appears to fit. If the film had ended there, the running time would have been reduced to 2 hours and the engagement would have been better.
The widespread use of cinematic freedoms affects engagement in both locations. The characters come in and out easily, and it’s hard to believe what’s going on on screen. A metro station ending in a mall has a great stage chase scene involving a dog, Durga and a rival (Ajmal Aamir). Cinematically, the scene is fantastic, but it merges when cinematic freedom ends.
